Cecil Lee Pyron Sr.

Cecil Lee Pyron Sr., age 88, of Danville, Virginia passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Sovah Health.

Mr. Pyron was born on March 8, 1936 in Rockingham County, North Carolina to the late Robert Howard Pyron and Elizabeth Frances Wells Pyron.

Mr. Pyron lived most of his life in Danville where he retired from Hemingway Transport & ABF Freight Systems. He was also of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.

Mr. Pyron is survived by his daughters, Susan Daniel, Tammy Warren (Mike), and Sandra Buchanan (Brian); son, Cecil Lee Pyron Jr. (Sylvia); grandchildren, Matthew Warren, Kyle Daniel (Heather), Caroline Dodson (Calab), Hunter Pyron, Christian Buchanan, Olivia Buchanan; great-grandchildren, Savannah Daniel, Adalyn Daniel, Carrington Dodson, and Tripp Dodson; along with many nieces and cousins. In addition, he is survived by a special friend, Barbara Evans, who he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Howard Clay “Sonny” Pyron; sisters, Velma Watkins and Edna Lineberry; and two infant sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday March 24, 2024 at 3:00pm at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Gerald Kelly and Brian Buchanan officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:15-3:00pm prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the home of Sandra Buchanan. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens
